Akshaya Tritiya is considered to be one of the most auspicious days of the year in the Vedic calendar. Because it is a day bereft of all inauspiciousness, even checking muhurtas is said to be unnecessary. The word Akshaya means "that which never diminishes," therefore beginnings made on this day are conducive to long-lasting success. Whatever service is rendered to Krishna and His devotees is multipled many times over. Donations made on this day yield unlimited rewards. For devotees, Akshaya Tritiya is an impetus to surrender whatever they have in the service of Krishna.
Chandan Yatra starts on the third lunar day of the waxing moon of Vaisakha month and continues for 21 days. Since the month of Vaisakha is very hot in India, the cooling effect of sandalwood paste (chandan) smeared over the body of the Deity is very pleasing to the the Lord. It is a celebration of great joy for all devotees.
May all living entities surrender to Krishna and honor His pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada, and thus achieve eternal happiness in Goloka Vrindavan.
Hare Krishna!
