_________
Srila Prabhupada was probably the most prolific correspondent of any spiritual leader of the Twentieth Century. The total number of letters written between 1947 and 1977 easily exceeds 10,000. Their breadth is equally remarkable - with friends, religious and political leaders, with students and disciples, Srila Prabhupada was as potent and moving a communicator in letters as he was in person. Collectively, Srila Prabhupada’s letters reveal his personal character and thinking like no other source.
Since 2001 we have been presenting online a complete, unedited presentation of all known extant letters of Srila Prabhupada in a collection of blogs entitled Prabhuapda Letters. To help establish historical and chronological context, we post all letters on the day they were originally written; June 1, 1967 is posted on June 1, 2007, etc.
A work in progress, we are presently up to the year 1973. We hope to have all of Srila Prabhupada’s letters online by 2009. We have also added Letters Anthology which provides a daily selection of all the letters written by Srila Prabhupada on today's date.
It is our sincere hope that this humble effort helps bring devotees and non-devotees alike closer to a wealth of primary material seminal to a full understanding and appreciation of the profound greatness of Srila Prabhupada, his life and teachings.
