Srila Prabhupada established Back to Godhead magazine in 1944. Not only did he write, type and proofread all the articles himself, but Srila Prabhupada distributed the magazine alone in the streets and marketplace. By performing such determined acts of pure devotional service throughout his life, Srila Prabhupada proved himself to be a completely dedicated servant of his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura (seen to the right in the above logo designed by Srila Prabhupada).
