"Lord Krishna's name is Madana-mohana, for He can subdue the god Cupid, or lust. Only by engaging in the service of Madana-mohana can one curb the dictates of Madana, Cupid. Otherwise, attempts to control the senses will fail."

"Srila Rupa Gosvami has stated that devotional service attracts even Krishna. Krishna attracts everyone, but devotional service attracts Krishna. The symbol of devotional service in the highest degree is Radharani. Krishna is called Madana-mohana, which means that He is so attractive that He can defeat the attraction of thousands of Cupids. But Radharani is still more attractive, for She can even attract Krishna. Therefore devotees call Her Madana-mohana-mohini—the attractor of the attractor of Cupid."

"So Caitanya-caritamrta author, Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami, is describing the cause of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance. The cause is that Krishna wanted to know, 'What is there in Radharani?' He is Madana-mohana. Krishna's another name is... He's attractive. Krishna is attractive to everyone; even He is attractive to Cupid, Madana. Madana is attractive in the material world, and He is Madana-mohana. And Radharani is Madana-mohana-mohini, means She attracts even the Madana-mohana. Therefore Krishna is trying to understand, 'What is there in Radharani that She attracts? I attract the whole universe, and She attracts Me.' "

"Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu used to lament by saying, 'Where is Sri Krishna, whose form is curved in three places? Where is the sweet song of His flute, and where is the bank of the Yamuna? Where is the rasa dance? Where is that dancing, singing, and laughing? Where is My Lord, Madana-mohana, the enchanter of Cupid?' "

"Madana means Cupid. Cupid enchants everyone. Cupid. And Krishna enchants Cupid. Therefore His name is Madana-mohana. He's so beautiful that even Cupid is enchanted by Him. But again on the other side, Krishna, although He's so beautiful that He enchants the Cupid, still He is enchanted by Srimati Radharani. Therefore Srimati Radharani's name is Madana-mohana-mohini. Krishna is the enchanter of the Cupid, and Radharani is the enchanter of that enchanter. So these are very high-grade spiritual understanding in Krishna consciousness. It is not fiction or imagination, concoction. They are facts. They are facts. And every devotee can have such privileges if he is actually advanced."
